Fair Isle Hat

Fair-Isle-Adult

Project: Fair Isle Hat

Designer:

Pattern: Vogue Accessorize, page 90

Yarn: Knitpicks, 100% Merino Wool - Merino Style
Content: 100% Merino Wool
Amount: 123 yards/50 grams ball
Gauge: 5.5 sts=1" on #5 needles

Needle Size: 7 (should have been 6 as pattern stated)

Pattern Size: Adult

Start Date: July 18, 2005

Finish Date: July 22, 2005

Techniques: Two handed fair isle, some decorative stitches in ear flaps and two color crochet work on trim.

Comments: I never could get the decreases to work the way the pattern was written. I finally worked backwards and tried to minic the matching decreases in each 1/4 of the hat. Other than that problem, it was an easy knit.

Cost: 6 skeins of wool. at $2.29 - used less than half for first hat
